playing with photoshop filters…

Posted by MWPA on June 16, 2009

Using photoshop elements and a self portrait, I came up with this ‘art’ I think the overall effect was made better, by the lighting I used fo rthe selfportrait, giving the picture good shaddow and depth.

Playing Hairdresser and Photographer

Posted by MWPA on June 11, 2008

Once again I decided to curl my hair, I used my Revlon curling tongs and curled into tight ringlets, after all the hair was curled I sprayed what seemed like a whole can of hair spray over my head and let it dry. I used my wide toothed comb to loosen the tight curls to make nice waves, I think I achieved what I was trying to.

After I did my hair I took out my camera, the Canon 30d and put the Canon 50mm 1.8 lens put it on the tripod. I needed to focus the camera while I was looking through the view finder so I stacked up a few things on a chair so that I could set my camera to focus where I thought my head would be, On the chair I stacked the cats dry food container, my crock pot, a box of rice and a soft toy! I used manual focus so that I didn’t have to keep re-arranging my stack every time I pressed the button.

These are the pictures that I took:

New Curling Tongs

Posted by MWPA on April 1, 2008

My curling experimentFor those of you who read my blog regularly you will know that on a recent very early morning trip to Walmart I bought some curling tongs. I chose Revlon Perfect Heat 3/4″ceramic styling iron, it was in the middle price range, at $10 I thought they would be worth a try.

They were surprisingly easy to use, for a first time attempt I was quite happy with the results, I wanted loose waves, and that’s exactly what i got. If I had chosen to use smaller sections of hair I would have been able to create a much tighter curl. Instead i think I sectioned my hair into about 8 wide pieces.

The weather is rubbish today, Its hot , humid and overcast, its been raining on and off too. This is the kind of weather I hate, its so dismal and uninspiring, I get completely demotivated to do anything.

I think I am going to spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing, I need to repaint my nails, as they are starting to chip, I might make brownies, And I am making cottage pie which will be eaten tonight or tomorrow, depending if we go out tonight or not.

I am making my lunch at the moment, I decided to have a burger which I am putting in-between to slices of bread that just came out of the bread maker. I love fresh bread it tastes so good when it is slightly warm. I wouldn’t spend time making it if I didn’t have a bread maker.
