My Photography
For the last year and a half I have been learning some basic photography principles. My camera of choice was the Canon S3IS which was a rather cool point and shoot camera, with lots of extra capabilities.
In April 2008 I took the plunge and upgraded my camera, I bought a Canon 30d Digital SLR along with two basic lesnes. I have slowly been adding to my camera set up, and I now have some off camera lighting, a flash, background stand and seamless paper, a reflector and a cable release.
I absolutely love taking pictures, and I aim to learn enough in the next few months to start a small portrait and pet photography business, at the moment I have a long way to go to get to the professional standards required to sell photography.
At the moment my aim is to soak up all the knowledge that other people have to offer me, to practice and enjoy my hobby, and to keep capturing pictures in a way that lets other people see how i see the world.
This is a picture or most of the the items that come with me in my photography bag when I go out and shoot. I also take my manuals so I can read up on how to achieve something if I am not sure. I also always take my tripod, which was a bit big for this photograph. You can click the picture to see a larger version of it. I took the picture with a small point and shoot by Nikon – an S210.
1, Cokin holder with ND filter. 2, Cokin Adapter Rings. 3, Canon EF 50mm 1.8. 4, Spare Battery. 5, Memory card pouch. 6, Canon 430ex11 Flash. 7, Canon EOS 30d with Kit lens EFs18-55 . 8, Sigma 70-300mm APO DG Macro. 9, Filters: UV, ND, CPL etc.

Hello there
And those macro photos of the water droplet are great!!
I was just browsing your blog, as I found it through The Photo Forum website…Many times I have clicked on some user’s signitures/sites just to see what kind of photographs they have to present. I really love those few you have posted there; the pink in that rose is gorgeous
Anyway, just thought I’d leave a comment and say hi!

Thank you Heather for your comment, I always like looking at peoples links too, I think its my inquisitive nature!
Thanks for the compliments. I need to update this section, as all these were taken with my old point and shoot camera.
